And I walked. 

The rain was heavy.

Out of the safety of the well-lit bowling shop.

To what?

For what?

Why?

This, I knew.

I could not run. 

Through the rain.

Into the darkness.

I had no alternatives.

No nice warm bus.

No umbrella.

I chose to walk.

Away from what?

This I knew.

But I walked.

Fate's cruel twist.

The irony of having to.

Have no choice.

The regret.

Of yesterday's choice.

The loss of my choice.

Wet.

Through the rain.

Through the night.

I walked.
